Foto Friday Furlough
Foto Friday will return when I repair/replace my camera(s). There’s one advantage to writing. In a pinch, you can use a crayon and a grocery bag. For photography, you really need the gear. Plus, I’m too beat from my lesson to come up with an alternative. It hurts to sit down. Unlike hunters/dressage, a fundamentalContinue reading “Foto Friday Furlough”
I Got Nuthin’
You know when you go out to the barn and your conditioning program calls for dressage or flat work or some version of concentrated athletic effort and you say ‘Verb it. I’m going on a trail ride’? I Love My Cats. Really.
After last weekend’s show [Report], I tossed my jodhpur boots into the bathroom to be washed. In the course of the day [Nevermind], my gloves had gotten wet. I hit my 500th post soon, May 11th if my math is correct. I was excited about 100 and relieved to reach a year. However, 500 feels like an arbitrary collection of digits. I could be equally excited about the progressive symmetry of 468. Or 343 as a palindromic cube. Some numbers matter The differenceContinue reading “The Nature of Milestones: Nearing 500”
In Defense of Frivolity
I’m having trouble getting past the latest ghastly news. It’s hit me square in the what-is-the-world-coming-to. I have no specific reason that this horrible event should resonate worse than any other horrible event. Yet it keeps bouncing around my head making distracting echo-y noises. Every time I try to plot out posts for the nextContinue reading “In Defense of Frivolity”
