Rodney is fat and exuberant. A little too f&e. We have finally admitted that we need to cut his feed. His joie-de-vivre is not the toxins-boiling-out-the-ears that he had when he was first here [Square One]. This is more the natural result of green grass and a digestive supplement [Tiger Whistle]. He gets more caloriesContinue reading “Diet Change”

Ladies Only, Thank You
I took your collective advice, went to the Title Nine website, used their measuring chart, and ordered a garment with underwire & racing back. The result has enough straps, hooks, and cross-bracing that it ought to be made out of Kevlar and stop bullets. However, I was comfortable and the runway judges approved. Mission accomplished.
Ladies Only
(… because Gentlemen will find it TMI.) It has been pointed out that I need to, um, reinforce the support foundations before my next show. I felt nothing, so it is a visual matter rather than one of comfort. Anyone have experience with riding-related sport garments that have worked, or stores to get advice onContinue reading “Ladies Only”
Tiger Whistle
Hubby proposed a theory. If Rodney has been suffering from digestive upset, then perhaps he has long-term damage. I asked advice from Karen Briggs, author of the book Understanding Equine Nutrition, the guest post The Oily Truth, and the blog Writing fromContinue reading “Tiger Whistle”

From an article on ergonomic studio design, “Sitting Pretty” by Gail Stevens, in Bound & Lettered, Vol 10, No. 2. Doesn’t it look like the illustration for a correct seat in every riding manual ever?
Be Vewy, Vewy Quiet …
… we’re hunting pwogwess. Wodney, er Rodney, may not be a waste of pasture space for the rest of his days? It’s too early to break out the tack, but Hubby may have made progress on Rodney’s back. As one might expect, his back is turning out to be central to his whole way ofContinue reading “Be Vewy, Vewy Quiet …”
Piling on the Therapy
Rodney’s heat therapy set-up. You are looking at a Western wool saddlepad (colored, striped), two microwave heating pads (mostly hidden), & a piece of sheepskin (white, fuzzy), all being held in place by an overgirth. When Mathilda has had enough, I toss her two microwave pads & English sheepskin saddlepad on his hindquarters. He canContinue reading “Piling on the Therapy”
