Packing. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it. It's a long bout of 'What am I forgetting?'
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 24, 2015
My packing list is simple: show clothes, t-shirts, second pair of jeans, pjs, cell phone, wallet. Why is this a source of such agita?
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 24, 2015
Regardless. Need a break. Gonna go hose horses. At least someone on the property will be happy.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 24, 2015
OTOH, everyone laughs at the pony clubber who overpacks, but I'm the one who can produce a spare halter or moleskin in a crisis.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 24, 2015
Why packing? Horse shows in GA this weekend. Six classes over two days. One of the few things for which I will get up at o-dark hundred.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 25, 2015
Good night.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 25, 2015
Good morning! Are we ready to drive to a horse show?
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 25, 2015
Horse check. Two up (ears), four down (legs), times two. Much as I love Sam, I don't want to leave my horses. That's a first.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 25, 2015
Off to the barn.

Back to the show to ride & wash.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 25, 2015
Awesome warm-up. Sam lit by new ring. Added a little reassuring conversation with my hands & he was a star.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
First ya gotta get it at home. Then ya gotta get it in warm-up. Next step, getting it in the ring.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
Checkers drive-thru & back to hotel. Food! Bed!
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
Good morning! Are we ready to spectate?
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
Dunkin' Donuts & Coke. Fuel of dreams.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
Sparkling in the ring. My position? How the horse goes? Staying away from the crowd? Yes. All of the above.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
Apparently, I ride a saddle seat class like a cross-country course: jump, gallop about, gee that was fun, oh look another fence.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
I need to ride it like a jumper course: jump, prepare, jump. Dial it up & keep it that way for the duration of the class.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
CVS run. Saddlebred tails require a lot of conditioner.

The show hath rebegun.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 26, 2015
Checkers & back to the show. Gonna be too late to eat after tonight's session.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 27, 2015
And we're done. Put horses to bed, then humans.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 27, 2015
Feet hurt. Shower good. Night night.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 27, 2015
Good morning! Are we ready to horse show? No suit riders in morning session, so hair & make-up not until 10.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 27, 2015
On scene. Let the princess transformation begin.

Coke & hot dog from concession stand. Waiting for interminable number of munchkin W-T classes.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 27, 2015
Infinite thanks to the show for moving the canter championship up the schedule. Otherwise I'd still be waiting.

— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 28, 2015
Step 4: get it in the ring consistently. Very happy with ride yesterday. Now wondering what I did to make it happen.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 28, 2015
Nerves better yesterday. Permission to be competent & incompetent at the same time. See if it works again today.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 28, 2015
Love a hotel around the corner from Dunkin Donuts. 3 mornings, 3 donut runs.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 28, 2015
Horse show! Horse show!

Early class.
— Rodney's Saga (@RodneysSaga) June 28, 2015
5/10, 5/10, -/10. 5th respectable in all ages class. 3rd class, made decision to go big or go home. Happy with hustle even tho we went home.

Delivered co-pilot. Heading home.

Now it can be said. I did not enjoy being responsible for someone’s child. It was the same feeling as when I used to drive my grandmother to doctor’s appointments. Of course I was worried about my grandmother coming to harm. I was even more worried about what the family would do to me if harm befell her on my watch.
This was unexpected. I drove the young lady to a show last year [Show Tweets]. I guess back then I was too caught up with Matilda to have time for imaginary woes [Show Report].
Came by barn to feed Sam a peppermint.

Congrats on show results. Love the last pic.
Thank you.
Photo: Yes, I snapped that as I went into the house to collapse. A large part of photography is right place/right time.
