Walking – New Place

Daily walks continue with the horses in the morning. [The Morning Constitutional], [Sunrise Stats]

Walking – Monthly 5K

First 5K since Sulky Sprint in July. [Two New Places]

Because I managed to miss 5K walks in August & September, I went to a local park for an easy stroll on a flat, paved walking track. Wasn’t a piece of cake. It was more difficult getting started than I was expecting. The first mile was the hardest. The third mile was the easiest. By then it was downhill, so to speak.

Signed up for a virtual medal as motivation. I will count each 5K toward the total. Adds another layer of incentive to get out and walk the 5K each month. I chose NY Challenge with Conqueror Challenge. If the question is when will I get back to NYC, the answer is not soon. [Mood On Monday, When?]

Biking

Once. A short proof-of-concept ride. This is my bicycle. This is how I make it go. Checkmark.

Made contact with another barn.

They have horses for sale. Nothing suitable for us, i.e. green, young, & so on.

Still, I liked the way they talked about their horses & the decisions they made.

I have good feeling about this one.

Will anything come of it?

Will the image I have created match the reality?

We’ll see.

TIL. My bobbles of diagonals and one lead didn’t look as bad as they felt, or I was behind another horse, or the judge wasn’t looking. My ring management was better than I thought, I felt that I had gotten too close to the center island at times. Mostly I was in the middle of the space. More saddle seat-y than last time. [Seeing Silver Linings] & [Show Media with video]

Second in the first two classes, 4th in the championship.

Happy Rubber Ducky Day!

While I was in Montreal, someone mentioned seeing a store that sold rubber ducks. Ears up! Within hours, I’d found the store, shopped, and posted my loot picture. Had I not been flying with a small bag, I would’ve had a much bigger haul.

Accompanying message, “So many side quests”

Other folks expressed interest. I encouraged them in their aquatic avian pursuits.

“Outstanding duck store. Brands and types I have never seen.”

“… and I say this as someone who has done more than the average amount of duck shopping.”, with a link to last year’s Amsterduck.
