What do you do when the heat index tops 100? Hose off the horses, turn them back out, and head down to Peach Park in Clanton for peach ice cream, peach cobbler, peach candy, and, of course, peaches.

  1. Too funny…we “discovered” Peach Park last month on our first trip home from Auburn Univ, and had peach cobbler/ice cream and sat out by plastic horse. I loved it because it reminded me of the old style road side places I would stop with my parents on our trips from MA to Ohio – before the advent of homogenous gas-food places along the highway. How far is this from your place?

  2. Google says 37 miles. Feels longer. We go about once a year.

As a kid I traveled more by train than car. Don’t have the road trip stories than many families seem to have.
