Smelling The Barn, Week 13, Virtual Tevis 2022

Riding

Awareness of the outside world. Per yesterday. “It has been a very long seven days, a week that will certainly show up in the history books. What may not make such a splash in the books, though, is how freaking exhausting it is to be living through this moment.” Richardson, Letters from an American: July 1, 2022. Preach! [Two Reins]

~~~
This week. 15.8 miles, 7 rides, 6 hours 29 minutes, pace – walk.
Total. 92.8 miles, 51 rides, 40 hours 30 minutes, pace 26:11 min/mile.
To go. 7.2 miles in 12 days (8 days).
Ring Work
Milton
Ring work this week – 0
Ring work total – 16 miles, 10 rides
Ride Total if we include ring mileage – finished!
Rodney
Ring work this week – 3 miles, 2 rides
Ring work total – 8.15 miles, 5 rides
Ride Total if we include ring mileage – finished!
Ring work miles being kept in reserve. Trying to do it all with trail miles, if we can.
Notes
Counting all the steps. Not rounding to halves anymore. Logging to the hundredths. Rodney gets shod next week. Can take him anywhere from 0 days to a full week to recover from the experience. Need to be across the finish line before that.
Speaking of counting. Not sure all the numbers are working out each week. I keep finding misteaks. I am sure of the total mileage, the only number that counts at the end of the day.
  1. I’m sad they started the Virtual Tevis early this year. I would have loved to do it, but our trails weren’t dry and I didn’t want to do ring miles. I’m super enjoying watching your progress though!
