It continues to amaze me that there is a group for everything.

My entry for the Graceful Envelope Contest run by the The Washington Calligraphers Guild. The 2023 theme was Fan Mail. I couldn’t come up with anywhere I wanted to send fan mail, nor a way to make lettering out of same. So I went with a play on a name. Peanuts Worldwide: Franklin

Process notes. I would have preferred solid blocks of color inside the letters, but the brush pens leave streaks, see last year’s entry below. So, I tried to make that a feature rather than a bug. If my entry had any chance of being anything other than a blog post – seriously, check out the other entries! – I would have redone it with a cleaner area around the “R”. But then, I might have made a misteak elsewhere. As is, I like how it turned out overall. Really like how the four blue letters on the right turned out.
