The monument is on the side of the road in front of a church. All these folks arriving, dressed in their Sunday finest, and I’m lying in the grass taking pictures of a sign. #poortiming.

Is there a reason why the geographical centre of the state is worth commemorating? I don’t think this is something we do in the GWN, though maybe it’s of interest to surveyors…
It looks to be a universal human activity.
