We hope to keep the morning walks going through the winter. It’s good for all four of us. While cold & rain may stop the parade, darkness won’t. [The Morning Constitutional]
Due to orbital mechanics and Daylight Saving Time, we are now less than 10 minutes from the darkest mornings.

When I was in grade school, it was always light by the time I left for school. Dad would often comment that the days were getting shorter or the days were getting longer. As a child, I figured he was just making conversation.
Later, when I was living at home and working, Dad would drive me to the bus stop before going on to his job. In the winter, it was often still dark when we left.
I realized that the length of the days, especially mornings, was a big deal.
Now, retired and with no alarm to wake me, I wake with the sun.
The days are getting shorter.

Daylight Saving Time (not “Savings”) ruins my year.
Corrected, thank you.
DST. I like light in the evening, but I could live either way if we would just pick one.
